In the spirit of snow sports – a look back at the 2024/25 winter season

With the conclusion of the spring courses in May, an exceptionally intensive and successful winter season for the Snowsports Academy comes to an end . Since autumn, our team has been working in Austria and around the globe – with one goal: to inspire people to take up snow sports and to professionally guide them on their path to becoming ski or snowboard instructors.

Following the traditional autumn courses on the Kitzsteinhorn, winter began with a focus on eastern Austria. In December, January, and February, our training courses took place in the ski resorts of St. Corona , Niederalpl , Semmering, and Stuhleck . Despite sometimes limited snow cover, training was conducted with great dedication – and once again it became clear: Vienna and its surroundings hold a firm place in the Austrian skiing tradition .

March then brought us ideal conditions: brilliant sunshine, stable snow conditions, and motivated participants made for fantastic courses. The perfect conditions at Pass Thurn and Kitzsteinhorn were used for state-certified instructor courses and race camps – accompanied by great enthusiasm on the slopes and an extra dose of team spirit off them.

April was a month of highlights. Particularly impressive was the international spring course with 150 participants from over 30 nations . No other course embodies our motto "SnowConnectingPeople" quite like this one – because here, people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and languages come together with a shared passion: snow sports. This international energy was also evident at the courses in Gudauri (Georgia) , Kalavrita (Greece) , the Netherlands , and China , which impressively demonstrated that snow sports know no borders .

Another highlight was the traditional Easter course at the Kitzsteinhorn with over 200 participants . Despite the late date, the glacier ski area presented itself in its best light. All education levels – from level 1+2 to level 3 part 1+2 instructor – were successfully completed. For the first time, an alpine course was also integrated into the Easter program, which complemented the overall training offerings.

The May course , also held at the Kitzsteinhorn, provided a fitting finale, as did another alpine course in Ischgl . The focus there was on safety, terrain technique, and avalanche awareness – topics that also foster personal growth.

What remains from this season? Approximately 3,000 certified ski and snowboard instructors , numerous new international partnerships – and great anticipation for what's to come. Because soon, as every year, our team will travel to Dubai to further develop snow sports and train snow sports enthusiasts there as well.
