Snow sports at university level: The part-time SNOWSPORTS university program combines professional snow sports education with sports science, leadership, management and tourism. Over two semesters, participants earn 60 ECTS credits at Master’s level, combining academic knowledge with intensive practical training in an alpine environment.

Martin Dolezal wurde mit dem SKI GUIDE AUSTRIA AWARD 2026 ausgezeichnet. Der Präsident der Snowsports Academy wird für sein außergewöhnliches Engagement und seine Rolle als Botschafter des alpinen Skisports geehrt. Seit über 40 Jahren prägt er die Schneesportlandschaft, verantwortet die Ausbildung von mehr als 3.000 Lehrkräften jährlich und gestaltet internationale Schneesportprojekte in Europa, Asien, Afrika und dem Nahen Osten.


Hooray, it's snowing – winter is back in Austria!
Hooray, it’s snowing! The Alps are once again covered in winter white, and many ski resorts are preparing for the start of the season. Conditions on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier are already excellent, where the Snowsports Academy has successfully conducted its first ski and snowboard instructor courses of the winter. Participants from more than 30 nations began their training there, marking a strong start to the new season.

Winter has begun in Vienna – and with a special highlight: At the Wiener Eislauf-Verein, Snow Space Salzburg, Flachau, and Zauchensee opened the new winter season together with the Snowsports Academy. On the ski carpet, visitors can make their first turns until November 16 – right in the heart of Vienna, without any snow, but with a real slope feeling.


The ski challenge is back: Vienna Ski Connect presents a digital bridge between gaming fun and active sports.
Under the theme “The Future of Sport Between Reality and Virtual Reality,” Wien Ski Connect presented the return of the Ski Challenge, combined with the MFT Challenge Disc Digital from MFT Bodyteamwork. The smart balance board combines gaming and physical activity, demonstrating how digital technologies can create new pathways into winter sports.


Let's get started with the new season – a look back at the Snowsports Academy instructor meeting
To kick off the new winter season, the instructors of the Snowsports Academy met at VAYA Fieberbrunn, the hotel of the academy’s new partner VAYA Hotels. In a modern alpine setting, the meeting focused on preparation, professional exchange, shared experiences, and team spirit ahead of the upcoming winter season.


Successful start to the season at the Kitzsteinhorn
Successful Start to the Winter Season: Around 260 participants are currently completing their ski and snowboard instructor training at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, enjoying excellent snow conditions and a fantastic atmosphere. A particular highlight is the new training center at the VAYA Hotel Zell am See, located right next to the Schmittenhöhe valley station. The perfect setting for a strong start and a successful winter season ahead.

A special attraction at the 2025 Sporthilfe Gala in Vienna drew plenty of attention: together with St. Anton am Arlberg, the Snowsports Academy presented its roller ski track, bringing winter sports into the Wiener Stadthalle. The mobile installation offered guests a unique opportunity to experience skiing firsthand in the festive atmosphere of the gala.


Vienna Ski Connect: Strong start to the season with an event on September 23rd.
Vienna Ski Connect started the new season on September 23rd with a successful kickoff event at Stroke Minigolf in Vienna’s 21st district. The event brought together winter sports and business in an innovative setting, highlighting networking, corporate event potential, and fresh ideas for the winter sports community in Vienna.

The Snowsports Academy joined Ski Austria Vienna at the 2025 Sports Day on Vienna’s Heldenplatz. With the ski simulator, children and adults alike had the chance to test their slalom skills – and the response was overwhelming. From morning until evening, participants skied, laughed, and competed for the fastest times. Winter sports in the heart of Vienna – a highlight for young and old alike!


Women’s Summit 2025 in New Zealand – Empowerment, networking and top-level snow sports
From August 16 to 17, 2025, the Women’s Summit took place in the New Zealand ski resorts of Treble Cone and Cardrona. The event brought together women from across skiing and snowboarding, from instructors to ambitious amateurs, creating a platform for empowerment, professional exchange, networking, and high-level snow sports.

The Snowsports Academy goes international – the first ski instructor education program in southern Africa
For the first time, the Snowsports Academy has conducted a ski instructor training course in Southern Africa. At the Afriski Mountain Resort in the Kingdom of Lesotho, located at 3,000 metres above sea level, participants were trained according to the Austrian ski teaching curriculum. With this project, the Academy underscores its commitment to the international development of ski instructor education.

New training center of the Snowsports Academy at the VAYA Hotel Zell am See
From the 2025/26 autumn season, Hotel VAYA Zell am See will become a new training center of the Snowsports Academy in the Zell am See-Kaprun-Kitzsteinhorn region. The location offers excellent conditions for ski and snowboard instructor courses and expands the academy’s training network with another high-quality facility.
