Snow Connects People: 25 Years of SnowWorld & Snowsports Academy in Cercle Diplomatique

25 years of partnership, international collaboration and a shared passion for winter sports: In the current Autumn 2026 issue of the renowned magazine Cercle Diplomatique, SnowWorld and the Snowsports Academy are featured in a dedicated article entitled “Snow Connects People.”

The Autumn issue features the Netherlands under the motto “Europe’s Gateway to the World” as its cover story. Cercle Diplomatique is published four times a year and covers diplomacy, international relations, business, tourism and culture, reaching embassies, international organisations and decision-makers from politics and business.

We are therefore especially pleased to be part of this issue together with our long-standing partner SnowWorld.

25 Years of Connecting People Through Winter Sports

Under the title “Snow Connects People – How SnowWorld and the Snowsports Academy Have Been Rethinking Winter Sports for 25 Years,” the article tells the story of an exceptional partnership.

What began in 2000 with a ski instructor training course at SnowWorld Zoetermeer has developed over a quarter of a century into an international success story. Over the past 25 years, around 10,000 participants have been trained in 380 training courses, according to the magazine article. Today, the Snowsports Academy welcomes more than 3,000 participants from over 50 nations to its indoor and outdoor training programmes every year.

At the same time, SnowWorld has made winter sports accessible regardless of season or geographical boundaries. With indoor snow resorts in several European countries, SnowWorld gives millions of people access to snow and winter sports.

What connects SnowWorld and the Snowsports Academy goes far beyond the professional training of ski and snowboard instructors. It is the shared belief that snow and winter sports have the power to bring people together.

This idea is also at the heart of our philosophy at the Snowsports Academy: Snow Connecting People – bringing people, cultures and nations together through a shared passion for snow.

Presentation of the Autumn Issue at the MAK in Vienna

The setting for the publication could hardly have been more fitting: On Friday, 4 September 2026, Cercle Diplomatiquepresented its new Autumn issue at the MAK – Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna.

More than 200 guests from diplomacy, business, politics and society attended the event following an invitation from publishers Andrea Fürnweger, Alexander Bursky and Markus Gstöttner, together with MAK General Director Lilli Hollein and Managing Director Gregor Murth.

The guest of honour was H.E. Peter Potman, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Austria. Following welcoming remarks by Lilli Hollein, Alexander Bursky, KLM Country Manager Guido Hackl and Ambassador Maximilian Hennig, Chief of Protocol at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, Peter Potman spoke about the relationship between the Netherlands and Austria.
