Snowflash Episode 3: Roswitha Stadlober
In a short interview, ÖSV President Roswitha Stadlober explains what makes winter sports so appealing to her, why her heart beats for competitive sports, and how she envisions the future.
Roswitha Stadlober knows all facets of top-level sport from her own experience: She was a successful ski racer herself, sports spokesperson in the Salzburg state parliament and co-founder of the association KADA (KArriere DAnach, to facilitate the transition of athletes into professional careers).

Since October 2021, she has been President of the Austrian Ski Federation, where she has made many strategic decisions. For example, the highly publicized launch of the Ski Austria brand with a new logo and the establishment of the inspiring slogan #skiverrückt (ski-crazy) were key initiatives. Roswitha Stadlober has also created sustainability, digitalization, and high-caliber expert initiatives such as Future:Focus:Ski&Snowboardsport.
During her sporting career, she was voted Austria's Sportswoman of the Year in 1986 under her birth name, Roswitha Steiner. She won the Crystal Globe for the Slalom World Cup twice (1985/86 and 1987/88) and a silver medal at the 1987 World Championships, ending her active career at not even 25 years old. Born in Radstadt, she is married to former cross-country skiing world champion Alois Stadlober. Their daughter is the successful World Cup cross-country skier Teresa, and their son Luis was also a competitive cross-country skier.
