Snowsports Academy Successfully Recertified as a Sport Leading Organisation
Quality that must prove itself time and time again. The Snowsports Academy has once again been successfully recertified as a Sport Leading Organisation. The recertification confirms that the relevant quality criteria continue to be met.
For us, this recognition is more than a quality seal. It confirms a commitment to quality that has shaped our work for many years – and our ambition to continuously develop Austrian ski and snowboard instructor training.
Because quality is not something you achieve once and simply maintain. It must be continuously reviewed, challenged and developed.

What Does Recertification as a Sport Leading Organisation Mean?
The Sport Leading Certification quality seal recognises organisations that can demonstrate their commitment to quality, take responsibility and actively support the development of sport.
The certification process considers areas including organisational structures, strategic direction and sustainable development, social impact, communication, responsibility and quality orientation.
Recertification builds on the existing certification and verifies whether the relevant criteria continue to be met.
For us, successful recertification is therefore, above all, an independent confirmation that we are continuing on the right path.
Quality Must Be Measurable
Austrian ski and snowboard instructor training enjoys an excellent international reputation. Maintaining and advancing this level of quality also means regularly subjecting our own work to external review.
The Snowsports Academy is therefore assessed annually by TÜV Austria and certified according to ISO 21001:2018 for the planning, organisation and delivery of ski and snowboard instructor training, as well as ISO 9001:2015 for additional organisational processes.
For us, quality management is not something that only matters during a certification process. Clear procedures and responsibilities, together with the continuous review and development of our processes, are firmly embedded within our organisation.
Recertification as a Sport Leading Organisation adds another independent confirmation to these existing quality assurance measures.

Quality Starts with the People Who Deliver It
The quality of any training programme ultimately depends on the people behind it.
More than 100 state-certified instructors contribute their knowledge and experience to Snowsports Academy training programmes. At the same time, they continuously develop their own skills and expertise.
During regular instructor training meetings, technique, teaching methodology, personal skiing and snowboarding skills and training standards are practised, reviewed and aligned. At our Spring Meeting 2026 in Sölden, for example, around 50 members of our ski and snowboard instructor training team came together to work on methodology, their own technical skills and the quality of our training programmes.
Because anyone who wants to train others to a high standard must also be willing to keep learning themselves.
Preserve What Works. Develop What Comes Next.
Our understanding of quality does not mean simply holding on to established methods.
For us, quality means continuously developing what has already proven successful.
Practical training on snow remains at the heart of what we do. At the same time, modern teaching and training methods, digital learning formats and innovative training concepts complement traditional on-snow instruction.
Theory and practice work hand in hand. Digital learning opportunities provide additional ways to prepare and deepen knowledge, while new methodological approaches help us keep our training relevant, effective and up to date.
Our goal remains the same: to prepare people as effectively as possible for their work as ski or snowboard instructors.
A Great Snowsports Instructor Needs More Than Excellent Skiing or Snowboarding Skills
For us, the quality of an instructor is not defined by technical ability alone. A professional snowsports instructor must be able to share knowledge, take responsibility, create a safe learning environment and respond to people with very different needs. Professional expertise is just as important as personality, communication skills and an understanding of people, nature and movement.
Above all, there is one essential ability: to pass on a passion for snowsports.
This is what makes the profession so special to us. Snowsports instructors do more than teach technique. They create experiences, bring people together and give others access to a sport that may become a lifelong passion.
Austrian Snowsports Instructor Training with International Impact
This responsibility does not end at Austria’s borders. Every year, people from a wide range of countries take part in our training programmes. International training projects have also been part of the Snowsports Academy’s work for many years.
As a result, Austrian expertise reaches far beyond our home ski resorts. The people we train become ambassadors for Austrian snowsports, sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm in countries around the world.
For us, quality therefore also means looking beyond our own horizons, embracing international developments and sharing the training standards for which Austrian snowsports are internationally recognised.

Ultimately, behind all these quality standards, processes and certifications lies something deeply human. Under our guiding principle “Snow Connecting People”, our goal is to bring people together through a shared passion for snowsports.
On the snow, different generations, nationalities and cultures come together. People learn together, develop together, form friendships and share experiences that often extend far beyond the training programme itself. That is exactly what we want to continue making possible in the future.
