Snowsports Academy trains coaching team in Sölden: Focus on quality on snow

From April 19th to 22nd, 2026, the Snowsports Academy's instructor coordination meeting took place in Sölden. Around 50 members of the Snowsports Academy's training team came together to work on methodology, personal skills, and the quality of training.

Perfect conditions for the Snowsports Academy in Sölden

Sölden offered ideal conditions for this. The glacier ski area provided excellent snow conditions, grippy slopes, and stable training conditions even in April. Three days of sunshine added to the perfect setting for intensive training sessions on the snow.

Another important reason for choosing Sölden was the collaboration with our hotel partner VAYA . The partnership, which began in autumn 2025, was further strengthened through coordination. With the VAYA Sölden, we found ideal accommodation for our team, providing a strong base for productive days on the mountain and for networking off the slopes.

A particular highlight was the warm welcome on Sunday evening from Jack Falkner , Managing Director of the Sölden cable cars and a prominent figure in the region. His appreciation and personal reception made the start of our time together truly special.

Methodology, personal skills and training quality are the focus

The first two days were entirely dedicated to training sessions with instructors from the state-certified ski instructor education, provided by the Austrian Ski School Association (ÖSSV) . A huge thank you goes to Thomas Kreidenhuber, Markus Brunnhofer, Lukas Hübl, and Bernhard Haider, who, with their extensive experience and precision, provided valuable insights into methodology and personal skills.

The focus of the first day of training was clearly on methodology. The aim was to further solidify the training standards within the Snowsports Academy and to directly implement new methodological input in practice. An intensive theory session also took place in the afternoon of the first day, during which procedures and processes within the training courses were analyzed and potential areas for improvement were jointly identified. Subsequently, examination standards, as well as their alignment and coordination, were the focus of the joint discussions.

The second day focused primarily on the instructors' own skills. Through targeted training sessions, the instructors worked on their own skiing and snowboarding performance.

The third day was dedicated to internal team exchange. Joint filming, giving feedback, and consciously working on movement sequences were just as important as the enjoyment of snow sports. For us, this is precisely the core of such coordination: The Snowsports Academy consciously invests in the quality of its training team because it is convinced that high-quality courses are only possible with strong instructors, and that this investment will be reflected many times over in the quality of the training and continuing education courses offered.

Motivation for the upcoming winter season

For the Snowsports Academy, the coordination event in Sölden marked a successful conclusion to the 2025/26 winter season. With renewed motivation, fresh input, and strengthened team spirit, the training team is already looking ahead to the upcoming season.
