The ski and snowboard instructor training courses at the Kitzsteinhorn are about to begin, and the start of the season couldn't be better. Thanks to the heavy snowfall of the past few weeks, the glacier ski area was able to open its first lifts last Saturday, a week earlier than planned. The excellent conditions on the glacier are further increasing the anticipation for the upcoming courses.

Perfect start to the season at the Kitzsteinhorn
With over a meter of snow on the higher slopes, the Kitzsteinhorn is in exceptionally good condition. Thomas Maierhofer, CEO of Gletscherbahnen Kaprun AG, is delighted with the successful start to the season: "It's been several years since we were last able to start the season at the beginning of October." Currently, six of the 24 lifts in the glacier ski area are in operation, and about a dozen of the 61 kilometers of slopes are already open.
The early start to the season was made possible by the heavy snowfall in September, which far exceeded the amount of snow that can normally be stored over the summer. Additionally, snow from seven depots from the previous season was used to optimally prepare the slopes.

A successful start
The first weekend of the season drew many winter sports enthusiasts to the glacier ski resort. Around 2,000 tickets were sold on Sunday alone, and skiers enjoyed the perfect conditions. This promising start has generated great anticipation for the coming months and the upcoming courses.
Perfect conditions for training
For the Snowsports Academy, the Kitzsteinhorn has been the ideal training center for years. The reliable snow conditions, excellent piste conditions, and diverse off-piste opportunities offer course participants the best training conditions from October to May. This year's autumn season promises to be particularly good – thanks to the optimal conditions that the Kitzsteinhorn already provides.
